GOLDEN JUBILEE CELEBRATION: |
1. Inaugural function of the Golden Jubilee Celebration of the School was held on 11 Jul 11. It was presided over by Hon’ble Raksha Rajya Mantri Dr MM Pallam Raju and Capt Balbir Singh Bath, Honble Minister for Defence Services Welfare Dept Punjab was the gust of honour.
2. The inaugural function was attended by Senior Most Service Officers (Old Boys of the School) in addition to other civil and military dignitaries: -
(a) Lt Gen AC Soneja, AVSM,VSM**
(b) Air Marshal Anil Chopra, AVSM, VM, VSM
(c) Brig (retd) MPS Bajwa, YSM
3. They were honoured by the Raksha Rajya Mantri.
4. The following events were held: -
(a) Release of Golden Jubilee Souvenir
(b) Release of First Day Special Cover by Post Master General, Punjab.
(c) Investiture ceremony
(d) Incentive to students.
5. The students of the School presented a cultural show which was appreciated by the audience.
6. To commemorate the Golden Jubilee year, the following events have been conducted -
(a) Golden Jubilee English Debate on 02 Aug 11 at 1000 Hrs. : Winner : Sainik School Sujanpur Tira (HP)
(b) Golden Jubilee Quiz Competition on 26 Aug 11 at 0830 Hrs .:Winner : Sainik School Kapurthala
(c) Golden Jubilee Hindi Debate on 14 Sep 11 at 1000 Hrs. :Winner : Sainik School Kapurthala
7. Students from all North Zone Sainik Schools, Member Schools of Sahodaya Complex Jalandhar participated in these competitions.
8. In addition, the following events will be held in the School: -
(a) Inter Zonal Hockey Meet from 26 – 29 Sep 11 : Winner : Sainik School Bijapur
(b) Sahodaya Inter School Basketball Meet from 27 - 30 Sep 11Winner : Sainik School Kapurthala
(c) Annual athletic meet tentatively in the month of Nov 2011.
(d) Annual Day during the month of 02 Dec 11 .
(e) Old Boys meet from 23 – 25 Dec 11
